Hot Water Beach is a popular beach and geothermal attraction located on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula, approximately 12 kilometres southeast of Whitianga.Hot Water Beach is as good as its name. Hot pools can be dug out of the sand at low tide near the rocks and in places where steam can be seen rising from the open sea at high tide. Its a great family activity, both in summer and winter.Hot Water Beach is also known as a good surfing spot.Usually loads of people at this beach good idea to be there 3 h before peak low tide. Stay at Te Aroha Holiday Park after your visit, only a 2 hr drive south from there and not so crowded [Anna, Te Aroha].Make sure you go to the end of the road where you will find a car park and a cafe/dairy. The dairy have spades that you can hire for a small price. Happy bathing.
